Litter born May 22, 2017 out of Artesian Valley Sioux and Duke of Quigley. Expecting very biddable
working pups. We have some reservations, but there is room on the list. Working homes take priority. Duke works goats,
sheep, poultry, and cattle. Sioux has been mainly used in the sheep flock and is a natural gathering type. Both
have incredible work ethic and are dogs you don't have to beg to work. Young Duke is my daughter's gem of a chore dog
and keeps the day rolling in order.
The English Shepherd's here have excellent care and are a vital part of the farm. They are a daily
part of life here, where they all have to tolerate children and various species of other animals. Some of them are my go to
for herding the flocks, while others are babysitters, they all must hunt varmin, and alert us when there is danger or we have
visitors. We really enjoy the variety this breed has, as well as the laid back demenor when not at work. So
glad they are a part of our family farm and look forward to many years with these loyal farmer shadows. That, they are a "farmers
shadow", type of dog. Curious, bold, inquisitive, loving, gentle, nurturing, extremely intelligent, independent thinkers
are all ways to describe our dogs.
The pups get desensitized very quickly and have
lots of stimulation. We feed Royal Canin to both pups and adults. We feel a high quality nutrition gets the pups
off to a better start than feeding cheaper "feed" store brands. The pups all are started at 2 weeks on warm goats
milk with a little puppy food mixed in. They are fed twice daily from 2 weeks until weanted at 6-8 weeks. The
litters here are also started on deworming at 2 weeks of age and every two weeks until they are weaned. They also receive
an extensive physical examination by a liscensed veterinarian at the first deworming. We vaccinate with a Dhpp (Distemper/Parvo)
at 6 weeks of age and every 3rd week until the pups are placed. At the 6 weeks point they also get another exam at the vet
during the vaccination. All litters are exposed to a variety of poultry and are temperament and herding evaluated before
leaving. We don't feel placing a pup based on color or sex alone is fair for the prospective homes or the dog.
That being said, all pups are matched based on the needs of their personalities and the desires and needs of the owner. This
allows a much more successful start of a life long relationship for your English Shepherd. Pups are placed after the evaluations
are done and don't leave the farm until at least 8 weeks. If a puppy must travel by plane, they must stay at the farm until
12 weeks to insure a safe adventure in the air and a healthy animal after landing. Please feel free to contact us for any
additional questions you may have about our dogs.

Duke is just an incredible example of what the English Shepherd breed was bred to be. He has been incredibly
easy to train and extremely biddable. Already showing us a drive to work and alerting to strangers, as well as traveling
predators that come near the farm. At 9 weeks of age he gathered a lone hen in the yard and brought her to
me three different times. On the third go, I caught the hen and put her back with the others. He was quite proud
of himself. He started to gather and drive weaned goat kids just a couple weeks later. Duke is fitting
in nicely with our family also. The children just adore him and the feeling is quite mutual! We look forward
into the years we will have with him and the contributions he should make to our breed. He bonded with our eldest daughter
and helps with chores twice a day. Keeps the horses seperated from the cow troughs at feeding time each day. Such
a smart, inquisitive dog with such a keen sense of thought with the stock. He is not an overly aggressive working dog,
but will turn stock when asked. He is extremely biddable and has a loving nature with young stock.

Annie is a very biddable female that catches on quick. She is with us day and night, indoors and outdoors. She is
a wonderful "mothering" companion to our children as a farm dog. She is what an English Shepherd is bred for.
Protective over the property towards predators. Watchful and careful to keep the routine. She is our shadow, you
don't know she is with you until she is needed. A dog that is content on sitting by and waiting for the next job that
needs to be done.

Reilly is a wonderful addition to the family here at Artesian Valley. She has such williness to please and
enjoys the kids as well as working on the farm. She is really a strong dog on the sheep flock here and arriving
as a mature dog, has amazed us at her natural ability to think on her own. Natural drive and willing to work unbroke
stock with good biddability and a head full of sense. She almost always out does the handler! Time has
shown that she settled well into life with us. She is very content and happy with a willing to please attitude. Miss
Reilly is my side kick on the farm. Litter by Old Joe born 7/24/2015.

Sioux is a pup we kept in the spring of 2015. She has a wonderful disposition and a heart like her mothers
with that wonderful can do attitude. We have enjoyed starting Sioux and she has been working with herding ducks, chickens,
goat kids, and lambs. She is also just a joy to have around the farm with us and loves to help with the daily routine.

Chyenne is another pup we kept in the spring of 2015. She has a wonderful disposition and a heart like
her mothers with that wonderful can do attitude. She is definately the alpha out of the litter. She has a go all day
personality, but is willing to please her handler. Looking forward to spring, so she can start working with the sheep.
